Learn about the future of Industry! Students enrolled in this course will learn the basics of Engineering and Computer Science in a hands-on approach that features tutorials and projects that will introduce participants to the Engineering Design Process. Students will start by learning theory related to concepts such as Computer Programming, Architecture, Sensors, and Microcontrollers and apply these to practical projects where they can use these skills to simulate different solutions to problems.

Designed to support and spark curiosity, this exciting course will build on the experiences gained in the classroom and targets an array of skills in areas such as mathematics, engineering, physics and electronics.

Course Description

During this vacation, learn what it takes to start and run a business. Register today!

Students enrolled in this class will get a crash course on what it takes to start a business. Work with our experienced business mentors and coaches as they carry you an intense series of online workshops that covers proving your business idea, modelling your business and more. Pair this with our technical content to create a formidable e-component for your business idea, including classes on how to build graphical content, social media-enabled websites and apps. Finally, join your data points in an introductory data science course.

Who can apply? Students with or without an idea or business plan. Students with previous or no programming experience. Our trainers have tailored this class toward students who have entrepreneurial aspirations and paired this with Science and Technology classes designed to inspire enthusiasm and build skills. Work towards your dreams!

Build your own solutions! Computer Engineering is the combination of electrical engineering and computer science. 

Students enrolled on this course will learn the basics of engineering and computer science through hands-on, project-based learning. By the end of this course, students will be able to design their own solutions to problems and prototype them using circuits, motors, sensors, microcontrollers and more.

Virtual Youth Innovation Programme – Level 1

Coding – Level 1

Course Description

Welcome to our Level 1 Coding Series. In this course, we’ll be teaching you how to build your own mobile apps.

The course will take place over three Modules, with each Module focused on a core practical tutorial. You’ll learn by doing as you build out these examples and learn App Development and Coding fundamentals.

At the end of this class, you should be able to use the techniques learnt to build out your own unique mobile app

Virtual Youth Innovation Training Programme – Pilot

This course which lasts under one (1) hour/sixty (60) minutes is focused on getting you started on your coding journey using the MIT App Inventor platform. Over the course of six (six) videos, your Instructor will give you an overview of the platform along with any relevant and terminology and guide you along as you build your first functional app together. This course is supported with written handouts and support from the Instructor over email once enrolled.

Requirements

  • A computer
  • Internet Connection (Necessary for using the Platform and viewing material)
  • An Android Mobile Phone (Only necessary if you’d like to load the app on a mobile device)
  • A Gmail Account with Parental Access (Necessary to use the MIT App Inventor Platform)
